Progressive Play® provides evidence-informed facilitator certification training designed to help professionals translate learning into meaningful practice across health, mental health, disability, education and community settings.

Progressive Play® facilitator certification training has reached professionals across 21+ countries and territories, supporting the application of play-based methodologies across diverse professional and cultural contexts.

Progressive Play® facilitator certification training is designed to translate knowledge into practice. Professionals trained in LEGO® Based Therapy and the LEGO® Serious Play method take their skills into schools, health services, mental health settings, disability services and communities - multiplying the impact of professional training far beyond a single factor.

Using LEGO® bricks in a session is not, by itself, LEGO® Based Therapy. Progressive Play® facilitator certification training equips professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the methodology and how to implement it in practice. Training covers facilitation, program implementation, observation, assessment and responsive practice, supporting professionals to apply LEGO® Based Therapy appropriately within their professional scope.

We encourage facilitators to respond to each person's strengths, interests, communication style and individual needs rather than expecting everyone to engage in the same way. Child-led practice creates space for choice, autonomy and authentic participation.

Our approach focuses on capability rather than deficit. Facilitators learn to recognise and build upon existing strengths, interests and competencies, creating opportunities for contribution, connection, confidence and belonging.

Neuro-affirming practice is not one-size- fits -all. Facilitation should be responsive to individual developmental, sensory, communication and support needs, with environments, expectations and activities adapted to enable meaningful participation.

Meaningful connection comes first. We encourage facilitators to understand the purpose behind communication and behaviour before responding, redirecting or correcting. By prioritising trust, safety and connection, facilitators can support authentic participation while respecting each person's communication style, autonomy and individual needs.

Neuro-affirming practice also requires professional responsibility. We teach facilitators to apply the methodology thoughtfully and ethically within their professional role and scope, using observation, responsive facilitation and reflective practice to guide implementation.

The potential annual student reach is an illustrative estimate based on a conservative benchmark of 28 students per educator and is not a verified count of direct participants. See the Progressive Play 2021-2026 Impact Report for full methodology and limitations.
